Tunguska Guska

Arte Acústico

In a small Siberian village, the girl Aidys finds a meteorite stone. This stone holds a secret, from it emerges Iveng, "the man from the other star". The village shaman is jealous of Aidys and her spirit lover.
The three authors combine the ritual chants and sound patterns of the Siberian shamans with musical passages and various forms of speech to create their own way of expressing themselves, in which far-reaching cultural backgrounds can be heard.
Sainkho Namchilak from Siberia learned the shaman chants and vocal techniques of her homeland.
Grace Yoon from Korea deals with sound rituals and speech rhythms in her performances.
Iris Disse tells the story on the basis of mythological texts. The piece was awarded the Prix Futura in 1993.
